‘Volvo’ is taken from the Latin word which means ‘I roll’ – not surprising given that the company’s roots are in the production of ball bearings. In 1924 Assar Gabrielsson and Gustav Larson formed the car company with the aim of producing a vehicle which could withstand Swedish weather conditions. This gave the world a vehicle which was deemed to be safe, reliable and robust. In later years the company has changed ownership a number of times but it is still producing good quality cars. WeLoveAnyCar.com has 350 Volvo car reviews which are rated 4.1. For more information on Volvo see this link from the Volvo Club. http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/history/
Volvo has a very loyal fan base. This is demonstrated in some of the comments made in the WeLoveAnyCar.com car review. “Space”, “safe” and sometimes even “sporty” are the comments used by Volvo owners. There are some models which are clearly better than others so, if you are buying a Volvo, look through the WeLoveAnyCar.com car reviews for the model you have an eye on. For example, one owner said of the S 60; “the only fault I have found is its turning circle and lock, which can cause difficulties where parking spaces are small.” If you live in a small cul-de-sac, or space is tight, this might be important to you.
